Sara is currently a principal learning experience designer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on the Connected Insights Team. She lives in Chicago with her favorite person and her Swiss Mountain Dog, Nellie.
She received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Tufts University in 2022, after graduating with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a double minor in engineering education and engineering management in 2018. Her doctoral work was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship program, which funded her research at the Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) on educational robotics. During her undergraduate career at Tufts, Sara was an infielder for the Tufts softball team, which won a historic undefeated national championship in 2015. She was also a research assistant at the CEEO, where her work was focused on developing learning experiences and technologies to bring engineering into K–12 classrooms. |
